How to Download Video Using Video DownloadHelper for Firefox (Windows)
This guide will show you how to download web video using DownloadHelper for Chrome alternative - iSkysoft iTube Studio. Windows and Mac are both compatible.
Step 1: Install Video DownloadHelper and Restart Firefox
Start Firefox and visit this page, then click the Add to Firefox button to download and install the extension. When finished, you need to restart your Firefox to activate the plugins.
Step 2: Open The Video Page and Download Video
Now go to the video page with Firefox (yes, only Firefox is supported), if the DownloadHelper is installed correctly, you'll see one or various 'animating multi-color balls'. Here you have two options:
1. Click the down arrow button next to the animating balls in the toolbar of Firefox, you can then choose the video with your favorite resolutions or formats. Right click on the icon for more options.
2. You have different options with the animating balls next to the video title (e.g. on YouTube.com), like Download & Convert, Quick Download, Copy URL, etc. Choose the one you want and start saving.
The difference between "Download & Convert", "Quick Download" and "Download":
"Download & Convert": Requires ConvertHelper and convert videos with watermark if no registered.
"Quick Download": Download video with the original names without asking.
"Download": Download video with a chance to change the default file name.
How to Convert Video Using DownloadHelper along with ConvertHelper (Windows)
Step 1: Download and Install ConvertHelper
ConvertHelper is required to convert online video and your local video files. It needs a registration code to remove DownloadHelper watermark and convert video to audio file like MP3 and WMA. Get it here. After installation, you can check it in the Preferences > Conversion tab by right clicking on the DownloadHelper icon and then Preferences.
Step 2: Download and Convert Video with DownloadHelper for Firefox
After installing ConvertHelper, you can download and convert online video in one click. You can also use ConvertHelper to convert your existing video files. Do note that without registration you're only able to convert video with a watermark and CAN'T convert video to audio files like MP3.
To convert online videos: Click the down arrow next to the animating icon beside the video title and choose Download & Convert, a dialog will show up, in which select the video format you want.
To convert local videos: Right click on the DownloadHelper icon in the toolbar of Firefox and choose "Convert videos", a browser dialog will show up, in which select the local files you want to convert, and click OK. The format selection dialog will open. Choose a format and click OK to start conversion. You can view the Converter queue by right clicking the toolbar icon and select Converter queue.
